Basic Canoe or Kayak Course ( 3 Hrs.)

This introduction to flatwater paddling for the entire family, emphasizing
safety, basic strokes, maneuvers and equipment is ideal for the recreational
paddler interested in exploring protected lake and river environments only.

Kids Adventure Kayak Clinic ( 6 Hrs.)

This program introduces kids ages 8-13 to basic kayaking skills in a safe and
fun environment. The instructors have numerous instructional games that will
keep kids interested and learning through out the day.

Youth Canoe Racing Clinic

Paddlers will learn about safety, equipment, paddling technique, training,
reading the river, the fine art of wake riding, portaging, and race strategy.
Paddlers will also participate in a race at the end of the clinic.

Level I Flat water Kayak Clinic ( 6 Hrs.)

This popular Level I Flat water course provides a safe and fun introduction
to the sport of sea kayaking. We begin with an introduction to water safety,
kayak design, related equipment and clothing. After suiting up in our
sprayskirts and P.F.D’s (Life jackets), it’s time to practice wet exits and
various self and assisted capsize recovery techniques in beautiful, crystal
clear Lake Rico. Next are strokes…… Your American Canoe Association
Certified Instructor will present a progression of paddling strokes teaching you
how to maneuver your kayak with skill and efficiency. After a delicious lunch ,
we head out to explore Lake Rico and work on refining what we have learned.

Level II Open Water Kayak Clinic (7 hrs)

Our new Level II Open Water Course goes beyond the basics and is designed to
prepare paddlers to comfortably and safely paddle on open water marine
environments. Students will be oriented with basic chart reading and on water
navigation skills, open water rescues, advanced paddling strokes and maneuvers,
and efficient paddling technique. Students will have the opportunity to paddle
short crossings, apply on-water navigational techniques, discuss safety concerns
related to the open water environment.

Level III Eskimo Rolling Clinic (4 Hrs.)

Let our experienced American Canoe Association Certified Instructors show you
the steps to learning a successful Eskimo roll. This course is suited for people
who are comfortable with the fundamentals of kayaking and want to learn a new
skill to help boost their confidence and enhance their boat control.
Price: $ 75.00
Minimum Age: 16

Flat Water Instructor Certification

3 days. Offered for people who teach others to paddle, guide trips, or wish
to improve their knowledge and skills in canoes or kayaks. This class covers
teaching and paddling theory and technique. An intensive hands on course that
will improve your skills and make you look at paddling through new eyes.
Cost: $275.00 plus ACA membership fees.
